Louise began dancing at the age of four when she began her training in classical ballet at the AVA Academy of Dance in her home town of Harrogate in North Yorkshire. During this time she performed in numerous shows and danced solo character roles in productions of Coppelia and Alice in Wonderland. She has since extended her training to include modern street dance, Ballroom and Latin styles.
After graduating from university Louise relocated to Cambridge where she began to attend belly dance classes with Emma Chapman, she immediately fell in love with Egyptian belly dance has never looked back!
She regularly attends workshops and master classes with teachers such as Khaled Mahmoud, Randa Kamel, Ozgen, and Yasmina of Cairo, (to name but a few), and she also travels to Cairo Egypt in order to expand her knowledge of Egyptian culture and to seek inspiration to help keep her dancing fresh!
Louise is a very patient and supportive teacher who loves to share her passion and enthusiasm for dance with others, she places great value in the development of strong technique and likes to encourage all of her students to develop their own individual styles and express their personalities through dance.
As a performer Louise is known for her graceful Oriental dances as well as her sassy Saidi and Shabbi routines, and she loves to experiment with props, choreography and musical styles
Louise teaches regular classes for beginners, improvers and intermediates in Cambridge and she is also available to teach workshops, party classes and private lessons – please contact Louise@cambridgebellydance.co.uk if you would like further information!
