COVID19 Safety Procedures for Belly Dance Classes at Netherhall Sports Centre

Please take the time to make sure you have read and understood the following information carefully before attending classes.

You must not attend classes if:

  • you are experiencing any symptoms of COVID 19 infection (a high temperature, cough, changes to taste/smell)
  •  You are required to self-isolate, for example if you have recently travelled to a region that requires a quarantine period on return to the UK or you have been informed that you have been in contact with an infected person
  • You have received a positive test result even if you have no symptoms

If in doubt, please seek medical advice and do not come to class

If you become infected with COVID19, you must not attend classes for 14 days after the onset of symptoms/positive test result

Key Points

  • You must maintain social distancing before, during and after class
  • Face coverings do not have to be worn during class but you are welcome to wear one if you prefer
  • For the time being, dancing barefoot is not allowed, please wear full coverage dance shoes (such as ballet or jazz shoes) or clean socks during the class
  • Please arrive wearing the correct class attire as changing facilities will not be available
  • Belongings must be kept to a minimum – please do not bring large bags with you to class as there will not be enough space for these to be stored safely
  • Please come to class on your own, friends/relatives will not be allowed to wait for you in the building and spectators are not allowed in class.
  • Handwashing facilities and sanitizer should be available at the venue but it is recommended you carry your own supply just in case!

On Arrival at the venue

  • When arriving for your class, please wait outside the building until you are collected by your teacher – take care not to block busy areas and to maintain distance from other people
  • Unless you are exempt from doing so, please wear a face covering when you enter the building, and keep this on until the class starts
  • Hands must be sanitised on entry to the building – soap and water are available in the toilets and hand gels should also be available (it is recommended that you carry your own supply just incase!)
  • When you enter the studio, please fill the space from the far side of the room so that the entrance is kept clear as others arrive
  • Please ensure that your belongings are stored neatly
  • When you are ready, you can remove your face covering and take a space on the floor, in the absence of floor markings ensure that you are at standing 2m away from other participants

During Class

  • The maximum number of people allowed in the studio is currently limited to 12 in order to ensure that a distance of 2 meters between participants can be maintained, please adhere to this at all times.
  • Face coverings are not recommended for exercise but you are free to wear one if you prefer.
  • Dancing barefoot is not allowed, full coverage dance shoes (such as ballet slippers or jazz shoes), or clean socks must be worn at all times during class – no outdoor shoes!
  • Class content will be modified to avoid movements/choreography that will cause you to move out of your 2m zone.
  • Music will be controlled wirelessly to ensure the instructor can remain in the same place as much as possible, the volume may be reduced so that the instructor can be heard without shouting.

After Class

  • Please prepare to leave the studio as quickly as possible and ensure that you do not leave any of your belongings behind
  • Make sure that you sanitise your hands on leaving the studio

If classes cannot go ahead you will be offered a refund or the option of attending sessions online

Refunds cannot not be given for missed classes including those missed due to illness.
